Well, I didn't suggest full tilt State Police chaffeurs. At any rate, I'm guessing elaborate steps could and should be taken to keep personal addresses very private.

THIS is exactly the kind of thing that I was concerned about happening and it is ALREADY happening:

I don't blame the Gov't. official for withdrawing, but it might be too late to escape unnoticed by whatever entity or ppl have already been doing the murdering of Gov't officials and one civilian in Kaufman, Kaufman County, and Forney, Texas.

The prohibition era in the United States, was about 1919-1934, isn't that what you were referring to?

As a follow up:
I don't know if this story has fallen off of the National scene or not. Since it is local to me, I wanted to make everyone aware in case they haven't heard. It is beginning to appear that the culprit in the murders of the Kaufman County Assistant DA, DA and DA's wife is a sicky ex Justice of the Peace in the area. The FBI searched his home and his rental storage and hauled out what they believe to be evidence. The word is that the guy will be charged.

He doesn't look like the type of guy that would or could be able to pull-off all three murders without a clue for 2.5 months. And there's nothing the authorities have reported besides bad-blood between them. The guy's a fuddy-duddy, overweight, semi-well-to-do ex-official (Justice of the Peace) riding one of those silly two-wheeled scooters, and collecting old cop cars, living in a nice upper-middle-class home. He may be hurting financially having been taken down for theft by the DA and Assit. D.A months ago, but in my opinion just looking at the guy,and hearing the lack of evidence on the news, there's NFW an aging fuddy-duddy like that pulls off two gangland style attacks - one in broad daylight, and another home invasion, taking out three ppl and goes unoticed for 2.5 months. I believe the only way that guy could have been involved is if he hired it done.

I can't argue with anything you wrote skid. Although it appears that this could possibly be the guy, about the only circumsantial issue that might indicate plausibility, is that if McConnell knew the guy, that would explain the access to the McConnell home. Other than that one little thing, there's not much that adds up. Of course, niether you or I have yet to see the evidence that the FBI supposedly dug up. All this conjecture though, remember that stranger things have happened.

*McClelland
I don't think McClelland would have opened his residential front door on a Saturday night to this guy that he and Hasse prosecuted. I guess it's possible, but I'd hate to be the one(s) doing the home invasion knowing that the guy was definitely armed from within. It may be just a total thing of luck that the perpetrator(s) have gotten away scott-free for 2.5 months w/o clear evidence rising to the surface. Even if this guy that is in custody (forgot his name) hired help with the hits, there's a $200K reward out for the killer(s) - someone's gonna talk. A GF, or someone that knows the killer(s) is going to want that money. As you said - stranger things have happened, but if this fuddy-duddy guy did the hits in-person, I believe that will be one for the record books of crime. BTW - IIRC, there were TWO men involved in the broad daylight hit of the Assist. D.A. Mark Hasse 2.5 months ago. SO, if that's accurate - there's more than ONE person that knows what happend in that hit. Someone's gonna talk at some point. If no one ever talks and there's a charge and trial presented against this Justice of the Peace guy, I just ain't believing it until the other(s) that did the one hit are rounded-up too.

Thanks for correcting the name Skid. I meant no disrespect to them.
Yes, now that there's a reward, you would think that something's got to give.

Skid,
I heard something in the news that made me think about something you wrote. In discussing the Boston attack, someone brought up the Atlanta Olympics bombing. This led to talking about the Security Guard that was falsely accused of that bombing. This was a good example of the phenomenon you mentioned. The Kaufman JP could indeed be a situation where they are under pressure to charge someone, so they charge someone. Only time will tell.

Williams met with authorities at the Denny's on Hwy 175 to talk about the Hasse murder months ago, then voluntarily submitted to a gunpowder residue examination. The authorities are also in possession of Williams' cell phone records. Apparently he came up clean on the gunpowder testing, since he was not arrested at that time. I would like to clarify something I previously wrote above. Because I viewed the guy Williams as a fuddy-duddy after watching the news interviews with him, is not to say that I don't believe he is capable of masterminding or participating in the murders in some way. Of that, I believe he was capable. In charging him with terroristic threats, jailing him, then setting his bond at $3 Million dollars? To me, that puts the heat on Williams to confess/plea deal, also, it gives the authorities time for other information or clues to develop, and to observe the behaviors of other suspects or groups of ppl also under suspicion. Since the reward is $200K, there is now a strong numerical reason that may motivate one or more witnesses with knowledge of the murders to come forward. I believe the Government will do anything in it's power to charge anyone with anything to make a case. Even so far as extending their reach to innocents. The Richard Jewell incident demonstrates that, as you've accurately made mention of.
