Very entertaining thread. It's always fun to watch the lefties sit around patting each other on the back, ignoring the facts.

The pendulum is definitely left. With the economy propped up resulting in $17T in national debt and growing rapidly, the kitten is in the tree. The kitten got in the tree and one thing is for certain, one way or another the kitten won't be in the tree forever.

When it crashes, and it WILL crash, THEN the people who are blinded by their lefty looney ways will be effected negatively and wake up. People are not paying attention to the nutty stuff that's going on because it doesn't effect them personally.

$17T in debt? Who cares, no skin off my personal teeth. Kids still dying and being mangled in Afghanistan? Who cares, they're not my kids. High unemployment? So what? I've still got a job.

When the house of cards comes down, most everyone will be PERSONALLY effected and THEN they will pay attention. Not before.

For those who read "All the Kings Men," it will be like when Willy Stark tried to warn everyone about the substandard school construction and no one would believe him, but when the fire escape failed, killing the children, people came running to Willy admitting that he was right. Of course it was too late to save the children.

The house of cards will sooner or later come down. As far as I'm concerned, virtually ALL of the idiots in Washington are lefties regardless of their party, and all of them are responsible for allowing the house of cards to develop. They let it happen in order to promote themselves personally and have fooled the vast majority into thinking that they care for them.

There's not a handful of those politicians in Washington on either side of the aisle that are thinking about ANYONE except themselves. The gullible electorate is believing their bull shlt and letting it happen.

I always felt a lot of potential D votes went to Perot too.

First by way of tax revenues originating from insurance groups that sell healthcare insurance; secondly from payroll related taxes by the greatly increased numbers of healthcare workers who will be hired to tend to the vast numbers of people who use obligatory healthcare. There may also be increased revenue from hospitals and clinics, but many of those are non-profit (currently, anyway); and next, when the .irs gets around to collecting the penalty fees levied on those who don’t to pay for healthcare.

Has there ever been a time where a big bunch of money transacted (or a few hundred million smaller bunches of money) where the .gov doesn’t profit?

Air&Road gets my vote, he will proven to be correct eventually.

"Healthcare" no matter how you define it or fund it does nothing to help the economy- just the opposite is true- it takes money out of the economy.

Regarding the government "profiting", the government never profits, it only spends more.

When I have said that Nixon was the greatest liberal President, all I got was derision. But, if you look at what he did, he was a liberal's ideal. Wage and Price Controls, OSHA bureaucracy, overtures to China. He may have had an R as a party affiliation, but he was a successful liberal pol. ( You just gotta get over the Watergate thing--and his lousy personality stuff)

And just exactly how does this mind set make him any different than 98% of all the other politicians of any party? Answer, it doesn't.

Really? 98% of other politicians bug their own offices and coverup burglaries? I don't think so. Nixon did some great stuff, but he was a sick puppy.

Absolutely correct, BUT the concept of spending massively more than the inflow is SUPPOSED to be a LEFTY concept.

The real problem is, that NO ONE in Washington from EITHER party, has the balls to do anything about the out of control spending. If they do, they will lose their job at the next election. This is fact and is more evidence that the politicians of both parties don't give a flying you know what about ANYONE EXCEPT THEMSELVES. That is the selfish mind set that got us here.

That's the fact, but partisanship efforts to "score points" in any discussion makes some forget history.

No, they don't do the EXACT same things that Nixeon did, but 98% of them do everything they can that they can get away with and are COMPLETELY for themselves and no one else. Count on it.
