Funny that they didn't mention Nevada.

I think prostitution is legal in many states but people don't know. Same as mentioned in the article, brothels, pimping and street hooking are illegal but prostitution is legal.

Marriage for money and dating for perks is a little too close to call for wide-sweeping prohibitions.

Age of consent laws were also very liberal in Canada a few years back.

Let's keep an eye on Canada's human trafficking stats in the future.

Should decrease the cost of services perhaps up here in Canada.. Since the government does not miss a trick so to speak. Will sales taxes be applied?

Actually this will eliminate any chance of the buyers of such services from being misdemeanor charged as well. Probably long overdue in reality. May even make it safer for workers in that field.

Overall though it is an unhappy thing to think some peoples daughters are working in that trade. It must make some parents out there very unhappy.

Reminds me of the old joke where the customer proposes a high fee for engaging the service his way. Then after awhile declares his way to be on credit.

There will probably be no need as there will be a lot of new existing citizens filling the void unfortunately. Supply and demand could even lower prices.

Yes the Canadian border towns may get an economic boost is not an unreasonable scenario. Pre booking from the American side could be a go.

We've been getting along just fine with legal and regulated prostitution in Nevada for decades. I don't know why it's illegal in other places. A prostitute agrees to do things she/he doesn't necessarily want to do with people she/he doesn't necessarily like in exchange for money. Fundamentally, that's no different from my job in a warehouse.
