Most, if not all, states require both parents to be financially liable, regardless of any contract or release, since the beneficiary (child) is the interested party and the state has a substantial interest in the welfare of its citizens . . . to not wind up on welfare, if possible.

I don't think you quite understand what responsibility is. It is owning up to the results of your actions/words.

Sure, I'd adopt the kid if I could, but my willingness to do that has nothing to do with the responsibility (or lack thereof) of this woman.

She acted, as did the man. They are now pregnant. "Killing" (to make someone else happy

) the fetus is only as responsible as killing someone who you've made dependent on you by your actions.

God causes abortions all the time so why can't humans? If God causes life, all those zygotes or fetuses that end up being either not implanted or miscarried are conceived and then killed by the deity. If God is acting responsibly by doing those kinds of things then humans can act responsibly by doing them also.

A few things here, some which I would have thought you would have noticed already.

1.God alone is God. Humans are not God. It is nonsense to make the argument of "well, God does it... so I should be able to as well."

2.God, IMO does not "cause" abortions all the time. Yes, one could say that he caused it by not acting. But I would suggest that if one was to blame God for spontaneous abortions or miscarriages en toto, then God would also be to blame for all other things, good or bad.

1.1 God, if one is allowing that idea in this conversation (you've already recognized the concept in arguing the above), is different than humans and must in some way have more foresight, wisdom, knowledge or better judgement than his creation. Blaming Him for doing something evil your eyes while not taking into account his more informed and experienced view is childish.

1.2 I believe this world to be a fallen one, that is that nature was at an earlier point more perfect (Hebrew "tamiym", not the Latin "perfectus") than this age. It is not just the humans whose natures have been tainted by sin, but also the natural world. Disease is a good indicator of this.And therefore I’d put the blame on humans, not God for the majority of spontaneous abortions.

Has anybody asked the father what he wants? Perhaps he will want to be invovled in his childs life. I know I would if I had a child in a situation like this.

Yup. A man should know that any time he's letting his seed freely move in the direction of a healthy uterus, pregnancy is a possibility.

She was devious, no doubt but the guy was part of the equation.

I'm not Reformed, so I don't agree with this at all.

God created all things, but He did not cause all things to happen or to be.

Unfortunately, in our society too many men have forfeited interest in their biological offspring and the law reflects this. Men have almost no rights.
