Not true. All kinds of idiots make noise there. Even fellow crappers conduct business on the throne so I can't sit in silence. As to comfort, in my crapper, I took out the seat and replaced it with a foam one for better comfort. I hate to sit on the cold seat.
I'm surprised you didn't opt for a heated and padded seat! Sounds like someone cheaped out! I've had (generally) good luck with not too many people conducting business from the crapper.

I did see some of the old school "pit" toilets while traveling in the middle east for work not too long ago. Can't imagine how comfortable those are!

If it were up to me, I'd have the one that has a bidet and hoses my ass with warm air after flushing, etc, etc but the wife would never go for it saying that it was a stupid expense. So we have what we have. I have to buy a gas grill because she was always afraid we'd forget the charcoal one and it would set the house on fire. Same with fireplace. I wanted something that I can set on fire. Compromises.

That's the way I look at it.

Either at home or at the office, often that's the only moment of peace and quiet to myself that I can get!

The one-seater executive washroom is where it's at!

Wish I could convince the wife it was a "necessary household expense" we need.

There is an old saying that it pays to advertise. That is the line I have used more than once in a similar situation.

It would be a truly awful way to live having to use a toilet just to take a leak when at home. I can't even imagine.....

I was wrong once.

Well more than once. But let's see. I occasionally drive a Ford, I like to sing soprano in the shower and bass while I'm driving (radio is somewhat broken, only one speaker works ), and I am growing my hair out to take up an offer from a friend to have it braided. Also when I was about 4, I was living with my aunt and my cousin painted my fingernails and I was yelled at when I showed up to my Pre-K class because it was unacceptable for boys to have their fingernails painted.
