Well, I suppose that's better than being responsible for all the crap I spew here daily.

The reason is that marijuana has been classified by the US Government many decades ago as a Schedule I (dangerous) drug.

Those events might easily have happened before legalization but I'm guessing marijuana edibles are more available after legalization than before since now we have stores which specialize in marijuana edibles. I have no knowledge of the prior illegal trade but I doubt many dealers were baking brownies for their customers. I'm thinking most brownies were made by the consumer.
The edible stores really popped out since the medical laws were passed.
Many of those purveyors were making these things before that.

I would be interested in the toxicology reports.
Much cheaper to sell a really strong pot brownie that is actually PCP or some other whacked out drug.

I'm not discounting that it could be the weed, but it seems as if a little more investigation is in order. We don't know what else these people may have been up to in addition to eating the weed.

It would certainly seem that the most certain way to avoid such an experience would be to abstain from consumption.

I read it ...

So this

Scans revealed that the nucleus accumbens was larger in marijuana users, compared with nonusers
is where 'expand your mind comes' from They never do claim the changes are a bad thing, or did I miss that part? Controlling emotion, for example, might be a real good thing for some. What do we ingest that doesn't change our brain some how?

Given the study were to be statistically significant, wonder how the brain differences manifest themselves? Still no copies on the web (even academically, which is very unusual) so I would love to see how they isolated the variables.

I'm trying to figure out how 2 (albeit tragic) marijuana connected deaths - connected, not caused- constitute a "trend".

How many people in CO were high the day those events took place? A half dozen? 2:6 might indicate a trend, I guess.
