OMG! -That's another bad ploy to use. You're baiting them by giving up part of a lane.....OK......then waiting to be hit? Why do that in the first place?

Have you never driven in a city? If you don't assert your right-of-way, you'll never get it. This is especially true in Boston.

With no damage and nothing but he said/she said you are wasting the cops time and they will tell you that when they show up. Bwhitmore strikes the nail on the head, you whip out your phone and take photos of their car and yours.
People are camera shy and im certain had chasinthesun done that when she pulled up she would have left.

Then you go home and order a dashcam

Boston traffic is a dream - try Holland.

Its becoming a normal occurance on this stretch of road for traffic to be lined up for a 1/4 of a mile on the turning lane ,the jammers seek a spot to enter and chose to not use their signal til the last second they make their move,(this would give their ploy away to move into your lane ),the female driver here was using her son to view the lane since she couldnt see into the lane her short statured self ,thus the witness theory .Im guessing the police ,if they showed up ,would not like to be apart of somekind of whos right whos wrong when one partys not willing to communicate with the other ,especially when neither car had visable damage ,if she wanted it to lead to an assault charge on her husband for her own stupidity then I wasnt willing to go their, he will soon get to the bottom of the whole event once he rethinks her and her sons story .

For a minor accident, cops would have told you to pound sand and settle it in civil court or insurance. Around here, you don't really call the cops unless there are injuries, a hit and run, or disabled vehicles/cleanup. You can always call them but many times they will decline coming out. If you said the woman was threatening physical assault, they likely would have though...

Last weekend a guy backed right into my front bumper, got it on dashcam and all. No cops called, (and actually I decided not to report it at all and told him not to even worry about it, to his relief). Theyre not going to want to waste their time on a broken mirror or dented bumper.

Yes dash cam. On the spot exchange information, take relevant photos, then leave. No point discussing fault. Ins cos determine that based upon the respective statements of each insured. Things you say can be used against you by the other person in their statement, so why say anything? Just be sure no one is hurt and ask if they need anything else from you before you leave.

If by "some", you mean "virtually all", I concur. If by "seemingly trollish" you mean "blatantly trolling", I concur.

His driver takes care of those concerns. SRJ just sits in the back managing his single share of Berkshire Hathaway stock that he was given in his teens.

I actually find the srj comments well founded in that such situations are completely avoidable. One party or the other always has to give way. Using your car as a physical means of asserting position only works to the extent that other people do not do the same thing. It is a good way to get into the precise situation you describe. Both people claim the moral high ground, assert their position, and a collision results.

Ok I have witnessed this in LA and DC. I will concede that is less of an issue in other places.
