squirrels 5, chipmunks 6,opossums,coons,skunks,bear down the road,blue heron,ducks,birds 5 kinds of woodpeckers,gang of doves, my koi.

I used to pick up mail for a company in a Springfield NJ in 1980 and hear boxes of chicks peeping away waiting to be picked up.

they are still,our post office in the spring,you can hear all the chicks,ducks,chicken,pheasants,geese,emu's, ect

My Grandmother worked in a Children's Clothing Store where the seasonally sold the Chicks.

They had a bunch left over and she gave 5 to my Father. My Father thought they would eat the Snails in the Back Yard. And, to some extent they did.

2 problems. Asian people had corned the market on holding the Eggs up to the light and telling what Sex Chicken the Egg would turn into so all of the Chicks would become Roosters that were going to Crow and disturb the Neighbors. And that happened.

Next while the Chickens did eat the Snails the Chicken ****e all over the Concrete Patio was way worse then then Snails in the Yard.

My Father Killed one of the Roosters, my Mother cooked it but neither Mom nor me could eat it (My Father grew up with that sort of thing).

My Father did not want to be the one to eat his way through the other 4 Roosters so we took them down and let them loose at Knott's Berry Farm which already had a bunches of Chickens running loose.

I love it when the topic drifts to things few folks know about these days.

I remember when horse meat was sold in most butcher shops, *much* cheaper so poor folks could still eat meat......

I've eaten some really odd (IMO) animals but never a rooster that I'm aware of .

The 3 Cats I was already taking Car of eat Rats, Mice, Gophers and I have even seen them eat Bugs even though I feed them.

In fact I did not know there was Rats around till I saw one of my Cats playing with the dead body throwing it around before it ate.
