Question Evaporative Control Smoke Testing

Anyone here know much about this ? .

I know just enough to know I need it but have no idea where to rent/borrow/beg the tool .

Here in California there are "STAR TEST STATIONS" that are licensed but not a single one either has the tool (a fairly simple if accurate) or is willing to do the job ~ I don't think and of the licensed smog technicians I've talked to has ever actually done this test, I'm stuck, any help will be appreciated ! .

Is this talking about smoke testing the evaporative canister system? That is what it sounds like to me.

This is what I picked up a few years ago. One of the best tools in the shop.

Thumbs up Smoke Testing

Yes, correct .

I'm pretty sure there's a leak right at the tank .

I cannot afford to buy a new machine .
