I just sold my 4 badges on Ebay this year to a large computer company(take a guees). I have not been in years. I usually just sell em every year. I would like to go again sometime but this new business is taking ALL of my time. If anybody wants em next year let me know and I will take a deposit. Have fun!

Lebenz...

I love it...You're a hoot. I can understand exactly where you're coming from (well, to a point, anyway). But I also appreciate the "other side" of the discussion. As I haven't been fortunate enough to get tickets to attend The Masters in person (something dastardly I did in a previous life, I'm sure), I'm unfortunately (now get this), further punished by having to actually WATCH IT ON TV!!! Oh, by the way, I can't wait.

Bill, are there any pics of your car posted here?

Cap'n...

Unfortunately, no pics at this point...It's something that I've been planning on doing for some time, but just haven't done it yet. I'll get it done w/in the next week or so. Out of curiosity, where does the interest come from?

Wondering what my 89 white/blue 300E would look like with your stuff on it.

Yes they do! And at a buck fifty a cup and $2.50 for a keepsake cup. Sandwiches are cheap too. There are enough concession tents that you won't spend over three minutes from entry to exit. These people are host to the most polite and knowledgeable fans of any professional contest in the world, and they treat you as such.
I extend a personal invite to my friend Lebenz to attend this event with me. All expenses on me (except travel . I can promise that he'll look at it differently. Unless you've been there you cannot imagine the magic this place has.

Cap'n

I've got an even better idea. As Lebenz probably wouldn't appreciate being there nearly as much as I would, why not invite me? You can get a look at my car in person to decide if you like the mods. It surely would give you a better idea than any mere pictures could. Hell, I'll even let you drive it (and I don't offer that option to just anybody) to give you that "seat of the pants" feel that no pictures could convey. On top of that, I'm really not that far from Augusta. It would be an easy drive for me. I'm sure Lebenz would be too tired after a long drive to enjoy himself nearly as much as I would. Cap'n, although I've never told you this before, I think that you consistently have the most concise, relevent, articulate and downright entertaining posts of any that I've ever read on this Forum. Not to mention, you really are a handsome devil to boot. One last try on my part - I'LL BUY THE BEER!!! Oh well, I guess I'm done...hey, nobody can blame a guy for trying.

Bill you make a good case and are obviously a great judge of character and art ! But you want to go which sadly makes you ineligible for the offer. You see, that's the way life works. You can get things you don't want but can't get things you do want.

You almost had me with the beer offer though! I could have re-couped most all of my expenses there!!

Make that .51 if I show up.

I'm not a Norman fan. That could have been anybody (well most anybody) in the PGA doing that. The one I saw happened to be Norman. I just gave it as an example of how most of those guys know what they mean to their fans and aren't all asses. Some of them are. Jose Maria Olazabal shouted at a boy asking for his autograph. Ray Floyd ignored a young boy begging for his attention and hugged a pretty girl next to him for a photo op. Nick Faldo and Vijay Singh were born without personalites. But I have seen a lot of kindness and good will there. Still I am more impressed with the course than the players. Those guys are just passing through. Over the last six years Augusta National has donated $19 million to charities.

Cap’n thanks for the waytookind offer! I am touched. It is probably the nicest offer anyone has made.........Well except perhaps for an offer made to me by an older woman. I was 22. She was, uh, over 40. But that is another story. Anyway yes the nicest! No kidding. Having said that, Cap’n, I'm gonna sue yer a$$ for the damage to my jaw bone when it hit the floor while I read your cool proposal! That’s a joke, btw......

It would be a blast to see a little of Georgia, spend time at Augusta, and I'm certain all would agree that few would turn down this kind and noblest of friendly opportunity! And yet....and yet for a number of reasons, which are summarized by the most dreaded 4 letter word known to modern man: “work” there simply isn’t an opportunity for me to get away.

But it would be cool in the extreme if the gang from here were to assemble long enough to have a photo taken in front of a beer garden!

Again, I'm touched. I hope I can make it to one of the Georgia area GTGs in the not too distant future! Perhaps we could hold the first annual Mercedesshop Fall Classic?

And just in case it was a little vague - my comments were intended as a light-hearted parody.... Gotcha!

Whew!! So I can stop alternating my frantic seaches between Ebay "Masters badges' and 'Ditech.com'?

Capn...

Since Lebenz can't make it, I've given this thing some more thought...I've decided that I will - 1) Sell my soul to The Devil and assign any and all benefits thereof to YOU...2) Sign over the title of my car (to hell with just posting pics) and just GIVE it to you...and 3) Not only buy the beer at the tournament, I'll buy the beer for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!! Now, if that doesn't do it, I guess I'll have to think a little harder....hmmmm
