I believe the turkey picture is real. I don't know about the other two. The first picture, we all know is an accurate self-portrait

I cant wait for someone to Photoshop Kerry's face into a horse's...
Anyway...How will the DNC spin Edwards's thoughts on Iraq? He was a big proponent of it, and called Iraq & Saddam "an eminent(sp?) threat"* something Bush never did. His opinions differed greatly from Kerry, and I imagine others that Edwards holds will be too. How will this be handled? And on a humorous note: How will Edwards keep up with Kerry's ever-changing postions? Hasnt he changed his stance on Iraq several times, from "for it" to "against it" to "its been handled wrong", etc etc etc? I personally cant keep up.
*Saw it tonight on CNN, they are his exact words.

Edwards is on the ticket because he is more conservative, altho for a dem that's not saying much. He will do the usual thing and say their opinions differ but he is there to serve the president and his wishes. happens in all campaigns. I have been to a couple of Edward's campaign events. He brings far more to the ticket than he detracts. The guy is the most masterful campaigner I've see, better than Clinton. He use's Lincoln style, which is to build a logical case, statement by statement, and then ends his speech with a conclusion from his statements. No stupid meaningless politico statements, like Bush telling us "my job is to do my job!". He gives you stuff with some real meat on it. I hope Kerry allows him to continue to do so.
I think if Dean had melted down earlier, he would have received the nomination. He should play well in the more urbanized southern states, such as the Carolinas, and those that still have traditional southern democrats, like Louisiana. If he picks off even one of those, Bush is doomed if the election plays out exactly as it did last time. |

I still think we screwed up nominating Kerry. Edwards was the guy they should have picked. Despite his inexperience, he has the charisma factor of John Kennedy going for him, and the guy is actually exceptionally smart. The "two America's" theme was a winner- I saw how it resonate with the crowds in NH. unfortunately, Kerry owns the machine. The machine was wavering in NH, and would have went for Edwards if he had pulled out Iowa. Kerry is in there due to blind luck on the timing of the Dean meltdown.

He definately wasn't my choice, but given the alternative, he's currently the best choice. I was actually hoping that McCain would switch parties and run for prez as a dem. A McCain/Clark ticket looked interesting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm surprised to hear you say that. Both of these guys spoke highly, at one time or another, about the Bush administration. No one was quite sure that Clark was really a Democrat, and McCain obviously isn't. Maybe you like the idea because it would eliminate the notion that there actually is an opposition party? Joe B. |
