When I repacked my bearings I think I tightened them down too much. I had followed the instructions someone here gave to tighten untill the roter was hard to turn and then back off 1/4...

Alright... feeling dumb.... made a few calls... there is no Speedo/Odometer cable on the 87 300SDL...

Circuit board behind the dash is the most likely problem. Easy fix I hear... Speedo place said...

Talking Odometer and Speedometer stopped today 126

My Odometer (trip too) and Speedo stopped today. Any ideas why both would stop at the same time. Tach still works as well as other gauges. Fuses look fine.

Well, like I said I repacked the bearings last night and drove the car to work today and again at lunch. Up to 75 mph. No howl... but I am not totally convinced. The noises went away once before.

Well.... I pulled the bearings out and they looked fine, seal was in good shape... no problems. Good thing too... Car Quest sold me the wrong bearings and seals. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:mad:

The outside ones look easy enough to get to... how do you get at the inside bearings?

First step... replace all fuses... take that piece out of the mix... after you replace them and try to run everything, check them again and see if anything knocked out a fuse. Good place to start.
