1987 Mercedes 190e 2.3 - Replacing Oxygen Sensor

Hi;

I would like to replace the oxygen sensor in my 190e. The mercedes shop manual suggests removing the floor plate on the passenger side to get access to the sensor. Looking at the floorplate I do not see any bolts to remove it. All I can find under the carpeting is a plastic vent leading from the console and continuing under the seat. Any suggestions on removing the floor plate.
