M113 - Lower Oil Pan Removal - How To Break Free From The Sealant?
The lower oil pan on the M113 is gasketed with Loctite 5900 sealant instead of a normal gasket. I need to remove this lower oil pan to replace the oil level sensor.
I have all the bolts removed, but cannot free the pan due to the Loctite sealant acting like an adhesive. There is a pair of tabs extending from the left side of the pan which can be used to lever it open; but try as I might, I can't get it to break free. I'm afraid that if I lever it harder, I'll bend the tabs and deform the pan. Any suggestions on how to loosen this thing so I can remove it? TIA!! DUTCH
