96 C280 Parking Brake - No Tension On Cable
Hi, The parking brake pedal has no tension and is acting like a broken front cable. I can see it connected and moving in and out of the cable sleeve at the parking brake pedal but cannot locate the other end at the adjustment yoke where the two rear brake cables interface with the front cable via a yoke mech.
Where is this yoke interface located on the car? If not a broken front cable is there another common component that fails and causes this condition? Thanks

Look underneath your rear seat -- you'll see a metal plate that you have to remove. Underneath the plate, the parking brake cable attaches to a pulley and two cables branch out to both rear wheels.
Good Luck

I found the adjuster. Thanks a lot. The two rear cables have come off the hooks. I am trying to determine if the adjuster is bad or if it is out of adjustment. The cables are fine.
Many thanks
