Mirror exploded on the freeway, need to install new one...

As I saw the 10" or so long metal rod come flying over the center divider of the 880 Freeway here in the Bay Area, I thought "Oh jeez, I gotta try to avoid that." I thought I did until I heard the huge noise and then realized that my passenger side mirror looked like it was shot. My wife actually thought we had been shot - we were just passing the Oakland Coliseum...Anyway, the outside cover is gone, there is a huge hole through the internal back and some of the little metal ball sockets are broken. But it is still completely attached to the doorframe although the rubber boot is very scraped. An inch away and it would have hit the pillar or even come through the window or hit the hood. Scary.

Anyway, I need a new one. I figure I will find something on ebay, hopefully in Arctic White. The question is - I have a 92 400E, the mirror is electric. Is there one cord/plug total that goes through the winodw or more? So far I only see one. Is installation easy or very difficult?

My other thought it to try and get a driver side from the UK with electric, but that might be tough., It would be nice to have two mirrors that are both the same size, the current situation is about the only aesthetic criticism I have about the car.

Thanks,
Jim
