Unhappy 1991 190E Transmission Governor

Hi,
I'm trying to remove the governor due to a no upshift condition. The car stalled and when I got it started the tranny will no longer shift out of first gear. I removed the rear transmission to lower the transmission, but I still don't have enough space to remove the governor cover and pull out the governor. The book says it can be done with the tranny in the car. What other parts do I have to remove and are there any tricks to get more space? This tranny has the transmission upshift delay feature so it has a hydraulic line that connects to the cover of the governor. Any help/tip is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
