Steering Knock
Was just looking at rmasteller's post RE buying a 92 400E, and he says the steering has a slight "knock" or "tap" when the wheel is turned.
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?postid=293290#post292884 My car (93 300E) has the same thing. When I turn the wheel, I hear a knocking sound. Doesn't matter if I'm moving or stopped. Its been slowly getting worse since this summer, so I'm thinking its time I go hunting for the loose part. Any ideas where to begin?

I have the same issue with my car (92 300E). There is a knock coming from directly in front of the driver side dash when the wheel is turned in either direction (moving or otherwise.) I recall somebody mentioning a serviceable bushing in the steering mechanism but I can't remember specifics. Does anybody know anything more about this bushing? Thanks.
