10PA15C vs 10PA17C A/C Compressor

are they different capacities?

I replaced one on my old SDL a few years back. When I looked it up it seemed the cars with larger motors had the "17" and the diesel and smaller engine cars had the "15". I believe they were different size compressors matched to the load. Anyone know any different?
