Exclamation braking question.....

when i brake i go clunk clunk clunk....i have replaced rotors and am looking at guide rods....will this fix the problem if my guide rod bushings are worn and are causing this? this is a 1987 420sel (a beautiful woman). this clunk i notice is only when i depress the brakes and come to a stop which is all the time...looks like the who front end is shaking and can feel it in the steering wheel and occurs from the time i depress the brake pedal

What kind of car?
Is this a continuous clunking, when does it occur - at first depression of the brake pedal, or just in the last few feet of braking? Does it matter if you are turning at the same time? Does this clunking happen all of the time, or just occasionally, or just during hard/sofr braking?

I see you added the info - thanks!

Since the steering wheel shakes, I would inspect tie rod ends, and wheel bearings for excessive play first. Look at the lower ball joints, and see if the boot is still intact.
Guide rod bushings usually creak when going over a speedbump or pothole.

The guide rod rear mount can amplify brake pulsations and will neven resonate under drive loading without braking, but if you are pulsing with braking you have a run out or thickness problem with the rotors. A little dirst under a rotor can make a good one do that. Some really poor pads will also do it by glazing the disc (rotor) and causing differeing coefficients of friction as the pads pass from one spot to another.

Just had rotors turned?

What a terrible thing to do to rotors. Replace them.
