300ce-24

Mine got 31 mpg across France to Brussels and back. Average speed there and back 60 mph and this included some town driving while in Brussels.

Mine is the 300-24 engine with Bosch KE (CIS) injection.

Also, our gallons are bigger.

Short journeys I estimate at nearer 20 mpg.

I love how people post their all time best FE on the highway with a tail wind and they claim 'ya, its my average'.

With my 2.6 5 speed I do mostly highway driving. In the 3 month I've owned it, FE has varied between 24mpg to 33mpg. The 33mpg was all highway, no AC, with mostly sub 70mph speed. I wish my mileage was better but it just isn't. One thing I have noticed is that the FE is about the same whether I use 87 or 92 octane with or without the R16 resistor. Megasquirt should improve on these numbers... if I ever get around to it.

With the 450SLC, I've been averaging 16.4 mpg.. The lowest has been around 13.8 (when I've been trying to crack 100mph with her) and the highest has been 16.7.

With the 280E, it's been in the 15.8 - 16.2 range.. I have to pull the odometer and get it fixed. I've been using my Garmin Nuvi to keep track of the mileage between fills and it seems to be doing an OK job.

I've averaged right around 23 mpg on every tank of diesel since I bought my car. That's usually with a lot more city than highway, but it really doesn't seem to matter all that much...

We just bought a 1999 E320 wagon, the first tank was 22mpg, all city, lead foot, with the AC on. I am pretty happy with this milage.

The 1983 300TD 285,000 miles gets 24mpg city average and I got 30 on a 600 mile trip last winter averaging 65mph on the highway.

1996 E320 mpg

We took the benz from Lexington Ky to El paso and back on I44/I40 in May, averaged 77 MPH and got a 27 MPG both ways burning hi Test. While in the Mountains 65-70 MPH we got 25 MPG running mid grade fuel above 4K feet altitude. Temps the whole week were between 88 & 97 Deg F ;/ the climate control was alaways on.

200K miles+ on the odometer.

This exceeds MFG mileage of 24 HWY/19 City
