300E ceiling mounted handles
One of the passenger assistance handles is coming loose on the interior roof of my 87300E. It is not real obvious how this is attached - can't see any removable plugs or covers to tighten it back down. Any ideas would be appreciated.

John,
I don't know if yours is different but at the handle ends if you use something flat and blunt you can peel back the leather. Underneath is a screw and all you have to do is screw it back in and then push the leather back into place. Like I said my car is a euro so i don't know if yours is the same...hope this helps. |

Perfect! I was afraid to pry on anything where there were no obvious pry points. I would never have thought of pushing the handle material back out of the way to expose the screw - the exploded diagram book on the car didn't show enough detail, and I would probably have wound up breaking the plastic surround or tearing the headliner without your advice. I owe you one!
