mercedes 140 question
hi.. my car has no interior heat i just figure out yesterday that the mono valve is stuck close no water can enter is there a eazy fix or should i replace it thanks for the help.

The 140 does not have a mono watervalve, it is a duovalve, which sounds like i am just being picky, but really the design is very different. As such, there is no repair kit like a mono valve, if you are sure it is stuck closed, it will need replacement. Did you try disconnecting the wire and seeing if you get heat, because the fail safe mode (electrical power loss) is an open valve.

how its going.. i finally figure out my problem and its the duovalve stuck close. first i tried like you said disconnecting the wire still no heat. so i took off the hoses and connected the wire and waited a few minutes and i tried blowing in it and got nothing. its stuck closed i even went to a junk yard they had one with the same problem as mine stuck close. i think i have to buy one new are do you know a way i can unstick the valve thanks for the help.

You could take the valve apart and remove the "bullet" looking part or grind the pointed end of it, that will allow flow, although then you won't get any regulation, in other words will probably be too hot inside the car. If you don't mind the extra work, you can take off a little at a time so that it won't get too awful hot in the car. You could check eBay for a used one maybe, one that's guaranteed to work? Unusual to have one fail at all, much less yours and the one you were looking at buying

ok.. i have a question have you every heard a dunovalve to get stuck close like that before. also do you think it will start leaking if i open it up thank you for your time.

No, I can't say that I have.
You will lose some fluid by opening it, you can pinch off the heater hoses to stop it. The valve has rubber seals so should seal up again OK after reassembly no problem, I have taken them apart before too. Gilly
