Help me find a parking brake spreader lock

Hello,

First off, the name's Colin. I've got a 1985 260E, Eurospec.

I recently had the disastrous experience of having to use my spare tire only to find that the long lugs went through into my parking brake and destroyed everything.

One of the members on Benzworld has helped me out by sending me new pads, springs, and the star adjuster. Now all I need is the 'spreader lock,' as the online manual calls it.

I have attached a photo with the breakdown of the parking brake. The parts I need are #109, as well as #104, the pin.

You could help me by getting a part number on it, directing me to a place that sells them online, directing me to a place you know that has them and could mail it to me, or by pulling it off one of your beloved parts cars and mailing it to me. I wlll pay you of course.

Thanks to you all in advance.

I've probably got one you can have - but I'm a bloody long way away and the postage costs might get a bit daft. Shipping by air will be incredibly expensive - shipping by boat might take two weeks...

Just go to the nearest dealership and get what you need! It's not that expensive.

I live in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. The closest dealership is 1800kms away in Edmonton. Well actually, there might be a Mercedes dealership in Anchorage Alaska, but that's also about 900kms away.

It's a W124... it's Eurospec but I'm assuming the parking brake parts are the same on any side of the world.

Correct, all of the W124 seem to have the same part number for this unit.

Is it the same as the W114 / W115 / W116 / W123 / W126 similar looking bit?

The part number is 2014200589

This tells me anything older than a W201 will not work.

Thanks - I guess that leaves me out of the race - my stuff is too old.

If you google that number you can see that it is fitted to present day vehicles (2012)
