Pull the engine or just transmission? 400E

I recently bought back my 1992 400e. It now has 193,000 miles and typical no reverse, everything else (for the most part) is minor maintenance issues.

The opinion I am looking for is it easier just to pull the engine with the tranny or just jack it way up and pull the tranny and leave the engine. I am going to swap the tranny with a rebuilt.

There are several things that could be done while its out like gaskets etc. to stop some leaks. I am sure it could use a new rear main seal.

Any advice & experience would be welcomed.....

Thanks!
