Actually Mercedes owners tend to be quite sharp! (An absence of dumb things posted on Mercedes forums...)

Does the baby oil act as a reverse aging product? Does rust spontaneously convert back to steel? Does the odometer run backwards? Do tell!

I take it you've never visited the benzworld forums?

Here's a thread ABOUT the Peach that briefly appeared on the Banzworld 126 forum, before it was quickly deleted by the moderators there.

What cracked me up the most was the post from the poor guy who was eschewing PeachParts FOR Banzworld. LOL !! I think he's got his priorities wrong...

When it comes down to it, search results always pull up peach parts and benzworld. The benzworld threads usually do not have very good info. Too many self proclaimed 'experts' that figure they are the only ones that can work on a car in their garage and 'did you try a search first?' responses. There's a UK site that has a lot of good info. It doesn't pop up in the search results often. Maybe on purpose?.....

I have a friend that works on his BMW motorcycle. He went the route of a paid forum. It does solve a lot of problems. The trolls run out of credit card numbers to keep making accounts, etc

Completely backwards: The comment about verbal diarrhea applies to the benzworld forums like no other forum I've ever encountered; including forums from many other realms.

Peachparts forums typically have a lot of meat, with very little fluff. Yes, there's a sense of camaraderie and some light (usually entertaining) banter, but the primary subject matter always remains in the forefront.

Conversely, whatever (mis)information that does exist in blabberworld forums is buried in a mind-numbing sea of rambling non-sequitur stories, personal opinions, and childish pissing matches. It's the 'Jerry Springer' of Mercedes forums!

Quite unfortunately. I have to say, I see the PP diesel forum as the holy grail of diesel Mercedes DIYers. I read it at night before going to bed, and I read it with greasy fingers and a sweaty brow when I'm stuck in the driveway with something completely taken apart with no clue what I did wrong. I try to contribute at both places, but the people here seem to respond so quickly and with such good info, there's nothing more to add. Over on BW, I try to help the poor few W201 diesel folks that post questions. There are maybe 3 guys over there that are versed in the 190D, including myself, compared to practically everyone else who only know about the gasoline KE-Jet. I do what I can, and I try my hardest to give correct info only. That's all I can offer, and I just hope I help at least one person in exchange for ALL the help I've gotten over the years from both forums.
