X18 Connector

G'day from the Land Down Under.
An electrical problem with a W124 300CE. I have been unable to find even a mention of the connectors involved, so here is a post on the subject. The only wiring diagrams to which I have access are for USA models an the wiring in my Aussie unit is different. So this makes finding the short to ground in the 8 amp circuit from Fuse C a bit tricky. The USA manual tells me that for the W125 050, its circuit is distributed from Connnector X30, but from inspection, I am pretty sure that its from connector X!8, located just above the drivers knees. If I unplug it, I believe I can access each outgoing circuit and determine in which one the short has developed. But I am unable to find instructions on how to uncouple this connector. Anybody know please? And if it is considered that I should perhaps not be frigging with this, please look up my post now several years old on the KE Jetronic system, under my name of Megawatt Man. It'll be OK.
