How to change a diesel fuel filter on a 1991 300D 2.5

Can you please inform me on how to change the fuel filter on a 1991 300D 2.5 TD? I just did the litle clear filter, without a problem. The main fuel filter looks like it is held on by the bolt on top. Where do the 2 tny rubber washers go? Do you have to undo the fuel filter bracket, it looks like it will not come out with all of the hoses in the way?
If anyone can shed some light on this, that would be great. Thanks!
