After 5 years, I am still wondering what is/was occurring here:

The car's throttle will be cut and then surge from idle to about 2K RPM.

The problem seems to be related to one of the electical or vaccuum lines located on the front passenger side floor because a front passenger can trigger the problem by placing his or her foot / purse in the wrong position. By lifting their feet, they can stop the problem.

My car has had the wiring harness "fix" that involves shoving more insulation around the harness under the metal plate the covers most of the wiring.

I have driven around with the carpeting removed and had someone wiggle different wires and apply pressure in different places; however, I can not seem to duplicate the problem when I want to.

Has anyone else had experience with this problem? Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks.

Will
