I BROUGHT MY CAR TO MIDAS TODAY AND HAD THEM INSTALL PREFORMANCE PADS AND ROTORS.
EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL THEY BLED THE BRAKES AND NOW THE BRAKES DONT WORK !
THEY SAY THERE IS AIR IN THE LINES OR THE MASTER CYL IS BROKEN BUT, THE MASTER CYLANDER IS BRAND NEW. WHAT WOULD BE THE CORRECT PROCEDURE TO ELIMINATE THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. (ONE IS NEVER BRING IT TO MIDAS AGAIN! "THE MIDAS TOUCH" IS WORTH ****
ON MY CAR) ALSO WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST PROCEDURE FOR REMOVING AIR FROM THE LINES.
YOUR INTELLEGENT RESPONCE WOULD BE APPRECIATED, THANKS!

You didn't mention what model MB. There are a number of years that use a master cylinder with a resevoir that has a rear compartment that doesn't fill until the whole reservoir is TOTALLY full. I have seen experienced techs get stumped by this more than once. The reservoir looks like its full but the back chamber isn't obvious.

Why, if they just replaced the pads and rotors, were they bleeding the brakes??

In regards to your statement Quoted
"EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL THEY BLED THE BRAKES AND NOW THE BRAKES DONT WORK !
THEY SAY THERE IS AIR IN THE LINES OR THE MASTER CYL IS BROKEN". My concern is, why if they bled the brakes, there is still air in the lines. Two, when you say the brakes don't work, what exactly do you mean, i.e., not at all, spongy pedal, excessive pedal travel. Why are they now saying the master cylinder is broken, and.. how did it get broken, and .. why do they think the master cylinder is broken. If I were you, I would light a fire under somebody's a.. there,, can I say ass?? , threaten to call regional manager, yada, yada, yada..

WELL, TO ANSWER EVERYONES QUESTIONS IT IS AN 87 300E, THE MASTER CYL. HAS ABOUT 2 YEARS ON IT DONT ASK ME THE MILAGE, THE METER HAS BEEN SET BACK THREE TIMES. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS REALLY SPONGY AND HAS OVERTRAVEL WEATHER THE CALIPERS ARE ACTUATING I HAVE NO IDEA, BUT THE MAIN PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE AN UNEDUCATED BLEED JOB. IM MAKING THE MECHANIC WORK ON IT TOMARROW SI I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE HIM THE CORRECT PROCEDURE TO GET THE JOB DONE.

Hmm...if I had to tell the mechanic how to bleed my brakes, I think I might consider a new mechanic, whether it would cost extra or not. These are your brakes, man, not some gizmo switch on the dash. This is a critical system to your well being and safety when you drive. Just my 2 centavos.

They probably pushed the caliper pistons back without loosning the bleed nipples, can damage master cyl.
Take it to someone who knows what they are doing, dealer whatever and get if fixed right. Send the bill to Midas.

Adam, Listen to Stevebfl. I was changing the old brake fluid in my Benz and sucked out the old fluid and put in new fluid. Went to bleed the brakes and would only get a little squirt of fluid and then air. Drove me crazy for a half hour before I looked closely at the rear chamber of the brake fluid reservior and discovered it was dry. Added more fluid and shaked the reservior a bit and watched the rear chamber fill up. Lo and behold everything worked great after that. Bet that is your problem...but with Midas... Maybe yor better off having trained monkeys work on your car. Mr. T.
