I used to own a '98 E300, and I really liked it. I agree with others, you should keep it and enjoy it. However, if someone offered me a '98 E300 for $3,000 I would do what it takes to buy it NOW! The bottom line is that it is your car, and you are free to do what you please with it. Any and all used cars have the potential for expensive repairs needed at any given time. A new (used) car for you might blow a trans a week after you buy it, so you just don't know. Better to go with what you DO know, rather than what you DON'T. Just my opinion though, yours may vary....Rich
