I would have to agree. Once the common problems are addressed, and maintained properly, they are quite reliable. Also, I am not sure if the ML had Adblue in '08 (I think not), so that is a plus. The Adblue system is plagued with problems, so I would stay away from them if at all possible. However, if you are a DIY guy, the common problems are not that hard to repair, or that expensive.
