I've read that if veg oil is getting into the crankcase that the readings for lead will come back high, as the lower bearings are being eaten away from the veg oil and lack of proper lubrication.
I do not have a lift pump before my IP, but that is because I feel that by thinning the WVO correctly I can get the viscosity close enought to where it needs to be.
