Alfa Center San Francisco

Does anyone have any experience in dealing with Alfa Center in San Francisco, they have MBZ trained technicians and work on Mercedes in leiu to their Alfa Romeo focus. Surprisingly, their rates seem the best ive come across in SF, and the owner is very friendly and knowledgable. Would love to hear others experiences with this shop if anybody has taken their MB to Alfa Center.

Thumbs up Calstar Motors, Inc. Glendale, CA

Elpidio Paguio was very courteous. They do charge like all the other MB dealership, but this guy made all it all worth it. He'll tell you straight forward what needs to be replaced or not. Very knowledgable. No BS. They are at 700 S. Brand Blvd, 818-246-1800. Believe me, No BS.

In San Francisco, go to Sal's ********.

My 500E had a "brake pedal all the way to the floor" problem. I called Sal (based on another recommendation on this board) and he said "tow it on over." I got the car there at 2:00 in the afternoon. By 4:00, he had diagnosed the problem AND fixed it, and my car was ready to go. He worked on my car personally and the price was right. Sal works only on Mercedes vehicles.

The shop is at 2942 San Jose Avenue, which is most of the way to Daly City, just off 280 at Mission/19th. 334-6221.

They couldn't help me with obtaining the radio code for my car. But, they did do an extensive computer search and showed me the printout (or only part of it). They were friendly and helpful, even though they couldn't solve my "problem".

Oscar, from MB Class Motors in Mission Viejo. He knows what he's doing with any model. Can't vouch for him enough. Always gets things done pretty quickly, and tests the car out for a few days to make sure he fixed it correctly. When I first got my 1990 300SE a year back, it had a lot of problems with it. T-Stat, radiator, belts, alternator, fuel pump, most hoses needed replacement, dashboard cluster FELL OUT, gas pedal broke, car overheated like crazy, engine mounts needed replacement, and a number of other things needed replacement. One visit to Oscar fixed all of this, and I haven't had any problems since for over a year.

Question Experience with Auto Europa/Steve Lukacsy in East Bay, CA?

I've just purchased my first Mercedes (87 300TD) and am disappointed to find there are few, if any, East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area, California) independent shops that are being spoken highly of. On the Berkeley Parents website (where we have found invaluable recommendations for many other services, mostly around child raising and home repair) I found this posting for Auto Europa -- if anyone here has had any experience with this shop they could share, it would be much appreciated:

Auto Europa
May 2004

Exceptional Mercedes mechanic in Albany. Auto Europa is owned and operated by Steven Lukacsy. He has been servicing Mercedes exclusively for 35 years! His work is flawless and reasonably priced. I HIGHLY recommend him for your Merc. Can't say enough about him really - 510/528-3196 He's on Cleveland Ave. next to the highway... David

Thanks much,

Kurt Snyder

P.S. Yahoo Maps shows the shop in Berkeley, not Albany.

Cool Good MB shop in San Ramon, CA

My son-in-law drives a 1986 300E, and needed some unexpected repairs, since the cooling fan bracket broke on his car. The car was towed to
German Auto Care
2073 San Ramon Vly Blvd
San Ramon, CA 94583-1205 Phone: (925) 831-3731

My daughter was very pleased with the quality and the cost of the work performed. The owner's name is Axel, and I believe they work, in addition to Mercedes, on BMW cars.
I know many of you are always on the lookout for a quality mechanic in the Bay Area.

They sure aren't cheap though. Buddy of mine's parents had a 740iL that went to that shop a dozen times in one month - the techs never were able to get that car straight.

please send me your ideas for the wall plaque I have a shop next door to me that can make one. Lets see if we can get it done.

I would like to have maybe a nice wrench attached to it and of course an MB Star, if anyone else has ideas please let me know.

Once we work out the idea, I'll get a price and we can see how much we can all chip in.

Alon

CA. House of Imports Mercedes Benz:(

Update on Rust repairs
Well My Wagon has been at the House of Imports Body shop for OVER Six weeks and The car is still NOT Correct..
The Replacement Doors are Wavey dont match the rest of the car.and the car is covered with Overspray!
Compound in the sunroof seal/door seals and most all gaps.
This is Substandard for any shop let alone a MB Dealer Body shop
I Would NOT Recommend The House of Imports Body Shop !!!
I have Called MBUSA/BBB/BAR/and Will get a Estimate from a REAL body shop to have the wagon repaired..the Correct way... Then File Small Claims...What a Joke !!!

a little bit of a drive for you but arrow glen in glendora, on arrow hwy and glendora ave, pretty good work. The covina (i think) MB dealer sends their body work there. They just did my car. BETTER THAN FACTORY. My car,(hood and fenders) on my 92 looked way better than the brand new SL's right next to them. No orange peel, they strip it all the way down and put a proper mixture and coating on. Insurance companies dont like them because they do "custom" work, but really its just the standard of quality is terrible these days, and they do things the right way. A little slow on getting parts because they use only new OEM stuff and the dealerships and postal companies are retarded, but other than that, real good stuff. worth the drive to get it done right.
