It tore holes in your dash, or discolored it? or both? I can't see how it would tear up your dash like that, unless you were applying it with a sharp stick. I can't tell what you are saying it did. Use a superior product like wuerth cockpit cleaner or vinylex which cleans, protects, doesn't leave a greasy or shiny/cheesy appearance and does not have silicone which can break down plastics over time.

The dash had no cuts in it before I used the product. I applied the product with a microfibre towel.

cool... just ten minutes ago i was putting some spf 30 lotion on my dash. thought i'd do a search here and see if anyone else has done this.

thanks for asking . right now, things are swell! [so far ] this is, of course, after she spent about a week at the trans shop, having lost all ability to move <<< Please Help! She's Stuck! ['87 300e] >>>.
i have not yet obtained the details concerning what went wrong with the trans except that it wasn't the shifter linkage and was definitely something internal.

How much did that cost you?

I just had to get my transmission completey rebuilt. I was shocked that it would break so soon. It's working well now.

amazingly, this repair cost me nothing. i'd had the trans overhauled at the same place [oceanside transmissions] about a year ago. they did the service under warranty. i feel pretty lucky that i didn't have to pony up any money this time.

The situation is not funny, but I could not help but to chuckle when I read this.

This seems to be a Honda strong point, so it would not suprise me if it was not a defective bottle of this product.

I have seen a product quickly damage vinyl. I advise against using "Lexol" leather protectant on the vinyl/dash. When I had my 1990 Lexus LS400- someone on the Lexus site was telling everyone to use the "Lexol" leather protectant even on the vinyl. Like a fool, I put some on my instrument panel and within about 2 weeks, my what was once soft and supple instrument panel, had became hard, unless it was at least 85* outside then it was a bit flexible. It had also developed "ticks" and "pops", when I would hit bumps on the roadways- where before, my car was 100%+ rattle/squeak/pop/tick free. The dash "ticks" and "pops" became so bad, that I sold the car. I had the car for a few months after that and it did not crack, but who knows- it may be by now.

Here is a photo of my 92' Acuras instrument panel- still like new- which is how yours should be as well - considering this is not a typical problem on the Acuras. Sorry it happened.

For the record- upon recommendation from folks on the wagon site, I often use "pledge" on the interior of my 89' Safari and no ill effects. I think I even put some on the Acuras dash here in the photo.

you use Lexol Vinylex on vinyl, Lexol Leather Conditioner on leather. Both are excellent products when used for their intended purpose.

See....that's what I was trying to tell Armor All. I never ever ever saw a Legend with cracked dash. They got me this round, but I'll keep my eyes open to see if someone will get them back for all damage people like me have encountered using their terrible products.

You are right and I should have used common sense and realized that. Fool that I am, I took the advice of that fool on the Lexus forum. It was too late though. The dash was destroyed in my book, because I cannot tolerate rattles, pops, or ticks from any of my cars interiors. Unacceptable.

The part about applying with a sharp stick was still amusing however.

Lino- I agree, the simple fact that the Legends do not typically develop a crack on the dash pad should tell them that they may have had a defective bottle of product.

Did the dash just crack, or did it harden as well? Any "pops" or ticks develop from it?

I keep hearing about this "303" and how it IS safe for dash pads. Can it be purchased at a local parts store- such as O'Reilly, Advance, AutoZone, or Car Quest?

The dash is a different color than the rest of the trim that is on the doors after using the Armor All. The dash looks dry and brittle now. Its hard to explain. The cracks are like slits and 2 of them look like a volcano erupting.

How about hardening? Is the dash still supple and soft?

Are the cracks in the photographs the only damage, or did it also do it on the driverside as well?
