Found this post while searching. My 11 year old and I tried it yesterday on my '86 300E. What an amzing difference! I couldn't believe the amount of oxidation that came off into the towels. I used my fingers to rub in small amounts only on the trim and not on the paint.
I rubbed it into the door handles first. They now look brand new. Then we tried the side mirrors. The plastic pieces that join the mirrors to the door posts were filthy. There was a lot of oxidation removed from there. Then I tried it on some of the trim pieces around the windshield, rear window, the two trim strips on top of the car. When I used Black Magic on my '87 300D I ended up with drops running from the door handles as mentioned in another thread. After finishing with the Peanut Butter, my son and I washed the car with plain water to remove any traces of dust and PB. Regards, --Craig |

door handles
My dad's allegeric to peanut butter and he sometimes rides in the car so I thought of an alternative.... Mazola oil which is a mix of canola and corn oil. It turned them blacker then I've ever seen them. I just rubbed some on with a rag and left it on. The next day I wiped them off so they didn't have an oily feeling and now 4 days later, they're still dark black.
