Hot slicone-wax application?

I was speaking to a classic car dealer in Az recently and he mentioned a sprayed silicone product that was commonly used out there to provide UV protect and restore shine. Basically, it sounded like some sort of hot-wax treatment for older cars.

I didn't inquire too deeply because it seemed like something that would be easy to find but I've had no luck out here in the northeast. Does it ring any bells for anyone? If so, how would it compare to a clearcoat application in terms of cost and longevity?
