Not to verge from the current topic... but I found these 2 little 'articles' about Rudolph Diesel. They aren't your normal diesel invention fare.

Ok, I need a badge, a badge for my grille!!! Someone, is this project dead? I'm really looking foward to my high mileage badges, and I think that a MSShop badge would look pretty nice as well.

A quick scan of this thread and I didn't see this brought up - but why does the badge have to be round? Surely some badge company could make a badge exactly like the existing mercedesshop logo?

They make cloisonne (sp?) and/or enamel jacket pins for all sorts of corporate logos in all kinds of shapes, I would think that any place used to making these sorts of badges ande/or pins could make one exactly like the wrench based logo.

And someone mentioned a window cling sticker - I can assure you that someone somewhere has done this - I have one on my car! Got it from a moderator at a meet a while back.

Rgds,
Chris W.

That someone was me

I thought the badge should be round as the mileage badges are round and I thought it would look cool. A wrench shaped badge as the original logo is designed would be even better, but may be more expensive based on the size and shape needed to be easily visible.
I'm not doing the pricing w/ the badge company. I think RLeo was spearheading that. Also, Admanles posted" "Ok, got a job ticket open and we're ready to roll." I'm not sure of his involvement. Perhaps they're both communicating.

I've wanted a window cling sticker for a while but have never been able to go a meet and searches have not provided where I can get one.

I've been trying to locate badge companies to see what their costs and specifications for the artwork would be. Specifically how many colors we can go and the costs involved. The designer I assigned it to has a couple of rush jobs to finish off and will get right on the badge design... I assume that because we are sponsored by MercedesShop.com and they have first right of refusal that the badge should tie into their logo?

LaughingGravy, we've made cling stickers for several of our clients. I'm sure once everyone decides on a design, we can get those made up pretty cheap

Sorry guys, still been trying to free up some art time from my artists. After a couple of slow years, seems like everyone has decided that they want things done now. I hope to have some drawings to post sometime this week. I'm still looking for badge mfr's so if anyone has an idea who to contact, let me know.

I've already spoken with the guy at http://www.qualitylapelpins.com

He's the guy who gave me the 'high teens' each cost for 50 badges. They do lots of grille badges, and even has pictures on the website for some mercedes badges they've done, like the one for a 300d (little d) club and a few others. Seems like they do good work for lots of high-end car clubs.

peace,
sam

I was looking at that site, and I saw the Adenauer badge. With its oval shape, it could accomodate the entire mbshop logo and leave room for an area dedicated to specific forums (Diesel/SL/HiPo/et al).
What do y'all think?
