Air cleaner lid removal
Hi Friends:
I'm trying to change the air filter in my 300TD. I took the nut off the center of the air cleaner lid and unhooked the latches. The top of the air cleaner did did not want to come off. I did not want force it. Any tricks or suggestions? I have a new Bosch air filter (made in Mexico) ready to go. Thanks, -George

Make sure the nut is off, ALL bails are loosened and swung completely out of the way AND make sure that the crankcase vent hose is off and out of the way. It should then come off.
Hope this helps, |

How long has it been since the cover (lid) was removed. There is a rubber gasket in the cover and she just may be sticking. Tap the cover's edge real hard with the handle of a screw driver, she should loosen up.
