Thumbs up New GlowPlugs In = Happy Camper!

Well I scored some new GPs for the 9 tonight, Champion brand... made by Federal Mogul. I've had great luck with their aftermarket fuel pumps from Carter and engine bearings in the past so when I saw these were made by them that made me feel a good deal better! They also come with a one year warranty too.

I don't know who's been following what but, here was the original thread ---> No Start =-(

The vehicle had been sitting for about 5 hours total at the completion of the install so it was fairly cool. After I flipped the key, the GP light came on INSTANTLY. I knew my problem had been fixed.

Tomorrow I'll start it after it sits for 9 hours and give the full scoop. I'll be happy as a clam (for a nonoffensive analogy ) if all is back to normal shape!

All for now.

Careful about non-bosch, I replaced the ones in my benz when I got it (less than 10 hours on the engine). It came with brand new autolites (really bad?) installed, new battery, new starter. It was super hard to start, checked the glow plugs, 4 bad.
4 bad out of 5...wow
Good thing those have a warrenty.
I went Bosch.
Curious to see if mine were just crap

I too heard Autolite were junk.

My Bosch took a dump on me (maybe 3K mi on them), they are apparently going to gimme some new ones but I'll prolly sell them and run these or NGK's in the future.

NGK Glow Plugs!? Whoa hitmanX. Are you sure? I would use them if they are available, based on experience with NGK spark plugs. Tell me where to find NGK Glow Plugs, please! I would not use a Champion ANYTHING - I have no faith in their crap.

Yes I'm positive, I checked the local parts store and they're special order... so surfed over to Sparkplugs.com and they're a tad spendy for the NGKs. I think they were like $20/ea.

Well I lost faith in Bosch, spent $75 and they took a dump on me in a few thousand miles. Can't get them warrantied locally either, have to send them in. Weak. Last time I go that route.

So when I get the Bosch replaced, I'm gonna sell them and have them replaced with NGKs. Until then run the Champion plugs.

FYI - car started up like a pro this morning after sitting all night!

Also, do ya guys recommend removing the IP lines to aid in R&R? I worked around it being a male contortionist again but, it seems like removing the spider would have made my life 3-5x easier
