Since you are pretty much doing them for free I don't see a problem... it is keeping you out of the bars on weekends...

I noticed that after I got back. The car belongs to a friend of my brother's. What model/year do you have?

Thanks
David

Yes I would buy one. Is it possible to make one with just one hole and not extend forwards buy the brake handle so I can still put my cell phone in that little skinny area? With a few small feet that actually touch the carpet in the bottom of the tray so I can put velcro in it to anchor it?

I have a W201

If yes please PM me and I will send you a pic of the area in the tray with a piece of cardboard in it so we know we are on the same page.

Thanks in advance........................Dave

The holders have "walls" so to speak that are unseen when in position. I don't think you'll have any problem at all keeping it anchored but why don't you send me a pic of exactly what you mean so I can see what can be done. My brother has a 201. By the skinny area do you mean the area between the counsel and the E. brake lever?

Thanks
David

My dad has a paypal account but what I'm doing is building them then sending them out. Once I know how much shipping is I'll email you so you can send a check.

Thanks
David

I made one out of pine for my 300CD, and it worked nice. I've seen similar ones on ebay going for close to $100, so you are selling them at too good of a price. I see a few places were you can make some improvements, mostly for the drink holes, but I will have to find the one I made, I am hoping I pulled it from the car before I sold, but I can't remember.

David, where do you buy zebrano wood or venier? Hope it's not a secret. I'm trying to figure out a better look for my A/C unit.

Thanks, Vilius

I got it from Woodcraft. I believe they have catalogs out and they just recently put a store here in Ft. Wayne. I don't think they would have anything like this at your regular hardware store as this stuff isn't very common it seems. Also, these are solid zebra so they don't have veneer

123c, let me know of any improvements you think I could make. I thought about putting a big strip joining the two holes together incase the cup had a handle.

Once I get caught up with members here I'm going to start putting them on ebay. I thought I'd list for $30 there and charge a flat rate of $5 for shipping. Is what I'll do is mark the day I start listing them there will be the cut-off date the new members can get the $22 price. I don't want people to join here just to save a couple bucks but existing members will always be able to buy for $22.

Regarding people who have sent PM's or emails, I'm working on them now but I need to go get some supplies and this is proving to be a hectic time for me since I am finishing out my senior year. (I have senioritis REAL bad). Also, I'm in the process of possibly getting my SDL to run on WVO, but that's at the back of my mind till summer comes at least.

Thanks
David

Yes, that was the improvement I was going to suggest, plus the placement of the holes can make a difference when trying to grab a cup when going 70mph plus...

This isn't the cup holder I made, but it's one that I based mine off of, I believe the guy was selling them for over $100 on ebay...

Alright, I've made a list of what members are buying what and here it is for verification.

Also, I might have to charge an additional dollar or so to accound for buying boxes. I never really thought to figure that into the original price. I am going to a shipping store tomorrow to see what I can get so I'll let you know then as I'll charge you exactly what the box will cost me.

So, here's the list (in nor particular order):
djugurba - 123
bassetboy - 123
Dana B. - 124
*aklim - 210 (As of now there aren't any 210's at the local indie shop but I'm going to the dealer tomorrow so I'll be sure to do measuring then)
junker68 - 123
*edboyles - 107 (I'm having a little trouble engineering something that will stay put with the little lip that is there in the back of the counsel)
AlextheSeal - 124
theairboy - (2) 201's
Jim Harris - 123
dcmovin - 108 (still looking into an alternate wood that will match up)
metric - 123

If you're name is on this list than I am in the process of getting it ready now or looking into it. If your name is NOT on the list and you'd like to buy one, let me know.

Thanks
David
