I am trying to time a injection pump and srart of delivery on a 1981 300D. I insalled the pump with the marks lined up on the pump. I have the engine timed to 24 BTDC as the manuel said. Installed pump, loosely tighten nuts. Bled system of air, by the manuel. Removed spring and plunger out of first injector line fitting and re-installed housing. Installed drip spout and pumped up system with manuel pump. Fuel starts out as a stream and slowly turns into drips and gets to one drop per second and keeps getting slower until it stops. I have swiveled pump through all its movement on retard to advance. I have no leaks and now i am at alost. Also i have the pump in full throttle, tied linkage with wire, and i have no injector lines connected, and the line to the fuel kill is disconnected too. I need some help please.

I am just guessing
Well, It sounds like you are really following the manual ...
I think you need to put a supply of fuel a couple of feet above your IP and have that feed it... When you pump up with the hand pump that is only temporary... you need stable supply of fuel .... above your work level . |
