Missing Thread?

Did my thread on retrofitting another AC into our 300's get axed or is my search not working?

I don't know if it did...

BUT if it DID... it was your fault....

We spelled out that what you had put in there was not proper... you could have hit the edit button and replaced it with what the other posted suggested...but instead... like so many of your answers... you instead defended something which everyone except you knows is not defendable...

I did write the moderator and ask for consideration concerning that... and if I am the cause of the thread being eliminated.... due to your attitude and lack of common decency.... SO BE IT !

Thank You Jim, It is not like CoachGeo did not have ample time to correct what was brought to his attention... Something which should not even have NEEDED to be brought to a person's attention in this day and age.....
Good Work.

If I was "told" to correct it I would have. Someone "hinted" they thought I should. Who ever it was did not identify themself as the moderator. Nor did they respond to my post on the subject about how I actually saw it as a complement and explained EXACTLY why and even gave historical reference to back it up. Nor did the moderator PM me. I honestly have not memeorized who the Moderator is in here, so I don't know who they are. I looked on the front page of this forum and it is not identified who the moderator of this forum is. Might have missed it though. From the responce above apparently Engineatwork is. Anyway..... I dont care over all if the thread got axed. No skin off my back but it is a loss of good info.

Might it have been wiser to just have axed the couple of post that the moderators were uncomfortable with? They had only partial relevancy to the thread and could have been removed easily with out loosing the rest of the info. Easy to do! I know this cause I am a moderator on a different MB B.Board. Even though I moderate for another MB B.Board; I actually send everyone looking for MB diesel info to this one. There is better information here and as a moderator part of my job is to provide the best information on the subject to those who visit my forum, even if it means shipping them off to this B.Board.

Tsk tsk I'll probably get booted now even though I STRONGLY support this forum.

stuff

it was me who originally hinted at the subject.

my last post which i think got axxed was that it seems to me that the cheapest thing for you is to fix the stock system. i have changed out mb heat/cool units from under the dash and consol and it is not for the faint of heart. that said if you were going to, the 240 or euro type controls are about bulletproof compared to the fiendishly complicated automatic thinggies.

Thanks T Walgamuth, Good to know its not an easy task. Will take that into consideration. Planning ahead on what to tackle and in what priority order.

"it was me who originally hinted at the subject."--t walgamuth

And it was me that agreed with your suggestion and reminded CoachGeo that we have Edit buttons available on our posts.... I used the phrase , in CAPS, "Hint Hint Coach ".

"If I was "told" to correct it I would have."--CG

We who mentioned that you had said something not appropriate for the forum did not have the power to " TELL" you to correct it. We did what we could in mentioning it ....and you were even given an appropriate suitable alternative word in English to use as a substitute....

"Someone "hinted" they thought I should. Who ever it was did not identify themself as the moderator."---CG

That is because they were not moderators.

" Nor did they respond to my post on the subject about how I actually saw it as a complement and explained EXACTLY why and even gave historical reference to back it up. Nor did the moderator PM me."--CG

That you continue to think that this is a subject which needs debate indicates a failure of upbringing , a failure of the schools which you attended, and a failure of critical thought process as an adult.
There are many failures of general sophistication which others are not able to correct.... so the only power which they have is all they can exercise... that is of controlling what is left for others to see on THEIR forum....

" I honestly have not memeorized who the Moderator is in here, so I don't know who they are. I looked on the front page of this forum and it is not identified who the moderator of this forum is. The forum moderators are listed at the bottom of each page on the right of the list of people who are in that forum at that time...

"Might it have been wiser to just have axed the couple of post that the moderators were uncomfortable with? They had only partial relevancy to the thread and could have been removed easily with out loosing the rest of the info."CG

NO **** ! What do you think we tried to get YOU TO DO ?

The first logical thing you have shared in this post.

"Tsk tsk I'll probably get booted now even though I STRONGLY support this forum."

You are still typing aren't you ? OUR Moderators have both class and restraint...you were given plenty of time to see the light by yourself on this and they only took out the offending thread.... For some reason they don't tend to alter individual posts....

Sorry for not PM'ing a warning. I have been laid up in/out of bed all weekend sick and I did not feel like picking through a W123 ACC systems thread (there are hundreds of threads there already) deleting bits and pieces.
I don't think the reason it got deleted needs any explanation. If ya'll have a complaint with me then take it to Gilly in OD.
I will remove this thread toward the end of the day just because it brings nothing useful/new to the forum.
thanks

AMEN.

It is one of those things where if you have to PM a warning they were not going to understand it anyway.... So don't worry about that..... he had plenty of ' warning' in a most gentle fashion anyway... and then showed he did not get it by his response....

i am glad that people feel strongly about this issue.

i feel hopeful that the person who was insensitive has learned his lesson.
