It runs!

that being said, not very well so far. I have zero oil pressure so it seems the pan is going to have to come back off again. The oil level sender is toast as well so something else to fix while I'm in there.

But hey, I finally got it to run, woo hoo!

also did get the bosch reman distributor working. Tried soaking the plunger with PB blaster and CRC power lube overnight with no luck at all. One of the other guys said he had some stuff at home that was garunteed to unstick it, so we went and picked it up, sprayed it on the plunger and 15-20 minutes later, I had a perfectly working distributor again. Simply amazing! The stuff is called Kroil.

Congratulations on getting it running.

I use AeroKroil myself. It's Great! It makes PB Blaster seem like water.

That's the 2nd W126 sedan with a coupe nose I've seen this year. The other was on ebay in California last month. Zero bids on the car. It was a 500$ starting point.

That car didn't show any evidence of bling though.

Thx -CTH

It got it's chance to run a bit longer tonight and come up to operating temperature. Oil pump turned out to be junk in the replacement engine. Made all kinds of crunchy noises when turning it by hand. The oil level sender and new pickup for the pump came in this morning as well as the new radiator came last night so all that got put in this evening. The coolant reservoir leaks at the neck so that's going to get replaced. Noticed a couple small red spots under the transmission, but the next big problem I'm going to have to mess with is a pretty good oil leak coming from what looks to be either the front cover or the headgasket behind the power steering pump. DAMN! about a 7 inch puddle after running for 15 minutes

Thanks for reposting the pictures of the car. That is one sweet car and I love the SEC front end on it. You seem to snag all the goodies out there. That Euro SEC in Baltimore
and this one(though I guess you snagged this one first.)

Thumbs up

Think the oil pump sat gummed up for too long?

Who knows. The insides of it were pretty dirty, with that brown/black coating over most everything. The pump that went in it was a laso replacement and the flow through it compared to the other one was leaps and bounds better.

Reverse in the trans is pretty bad I went with the trans that looked the cleanest inside but this one slams into reverse. Might be sticking the old trans back in it.
