I forgot to mention that no matter what my boost is between 10 -15psi this phenomenon will occur.

Perhaps 10psi is the max efficiency for the T3 on a 3.0L motor?

...wonder if the Finns could ship me all the components to build those headers, particularly the head piece, which would be difficult to fabricate (I have a mig welder). Do you remember what sort of price Mauri mentioned for a completed set?

That is one mean looking header. Whoee!! Has anyone had there existing manifold ceramic coated inside and out or is it just too restrictive to be worth it? The gases do move quite quicker with the coating especially when the inside is done too.
I threee or four 8+ sec 0-60 runs until I knocked off a 7.72s 0-60 with a 15.98s 1/4 mile at 90.3mph. I was very excited to see the 0-60 time so I just kept into it. It was not the most sane place to do it so I was very attentive of my surroundings. Consequently I was not watching egts closely but 1250-1300F is an approximate based upon my glance. I got to get those egts down. I may just disconnect my exhaust to see what happens. If they go down then I know what to do. If not maybe a new ic or possibly a turbo is in order.

How poor does the 603 manifold flow?
I've seen some pretty quick 4G63 Mitsubishi motors and WRX Subarus on stock manifolds break into the upper 11sec 1/4 mi on the stock manifold... I could see a new manifold if you need a T4 style flange or something of that nature sure.

The Euro-spec OM603 turbo manifold is actually quite clean looking, with the turbo collecter centrally located and no funky TO replacement log or EGR appendages to contend with. A T-4 could probably bolt right on one of those manifolds with few problems. What's the equivalent KKK turbo for the Garrett T-4?

Am I correct in assuming that our 603's come with T3's and the T4 is the next size up? Where do I get a T4 or the KKK equivalent like Casey suggests? Any vehicles that came stock with one or the other?
Now one of those euro 603 turbo manifolds would be a find.

Yes, if your engine has a Garrett turbo, then it's some derivative of a T-3. There was a guy on this board a couple of years ago that put a T-4 on his OM603.97 (rodbender), but didn't post any pics that I'm aware of, and didn't identify any performance improvements either (with stock IP settings).

I was browsing the other forum site where Dave and Casey have posts and they were talking about the curb weight of Casey's 124 wagon being 3,600lbs. I looked on the door of my 87 300D and it says 4390lbs. Am I missing the accurate way of getting the curb weight of my car? If so I need to change my G-tech pro setting.

So is the weight of my 87 300D more like 3400lbs?

The 4390 rating is the maximum gross weight for the vehicle, with full fuel, passengers, and baggage. The weight for the G-tech, for the wagon, would be about 250 lb. heavier than the curb weight, depending on fuel and how many budweiser's you've had in the last two years. ![]() Your weight for the sedan would probably be about 200 lb. lighter than the wagon. |

The door tag says: 4880 lbs GVWR. Subtract the weight capacity of 930 lbs and you get 3950. Almost exactly the same weight as what came out on the scale with nearly a full tank of diesel, no driver or passengers, and not even an extra scrap of paper inside the car. I know that recent vehicles are weighed with 90% tank of fuel, one 150 lb person, and some luggage in the rear(forgot the lb'age). The S500, for example is weighed in this manner(according to MB UK), and tips the scales at 4133 lbs.
