I love how fuel seems to go up almost a dollar a year. At this rate we will be complaining about $4 a gallon fuel next year.

A small 4cy gas car that gets over 30mpg on cheap regular is starting to look pretty good.

The brilliant economists on TV tonight have been amazed that the economy is "taking it is stride". Ha. Americans like buying cars and driving them, and will continue to do so; they will simply stop buying/doing everything else. The economy is going to tank if this continues.

I think that the figures they keep quoting are lagging reality.

Let's see.... Todays front page news in the Oregonian was "Northwest Gas prices zoom to new highs" Cheery news to begin with that gets worse as the graph at the bottom of the page shows diesel prices last august as $2.08. Today's diesel average: $2.74 apparently breaking all records for the state.
On the brighter side of things I just netted two solid sources of WVO, 10 gallons of greasy gold.

Here in Vernon, CT. I am paying about $2.67 a gallon. Before you know it, it will be cheaper to buy Wesson oil from the supermarket. Any idea of what the max ratio one could go with before having issues? I am talking about dumping new off the shelf veggie oil. I am seriously thinking about this. If diesel is running $2.70 in Aug. just imagine what it's going to cost in the winter, especially here in New England. So for winter use, what ratio could I get away with?

Cheap here

Here in Arkansas it is only 2.29 for Diesel and 2.35 for RUG. Just filled up agian on it before it goes up more. In Little Rock i saw that it was 2.49 for diesel.

What would be a good ratio for me to use WVO and RUG in HOT Ark. climate? it is around 95-100F here most days.

My 2 cents...

Hattie: at the rate things are going I think we'll be complaining about $4/gal fuel by Thanksgiving. By next year at this time we'll be complaining about 5 or $6/gal fuel
