Flaky Flashing Dash Lights - Grounding?

I have an '81 300SD that is having troubles with a couple of items that I think might be related, you tell me? When driving this vehicle, the seatbelt light comes on whenever you turn something else on (Radio, Turnsignal, A/C etc) and then goes off after a couple seconds. Any ideas? Also, the cruise control did work well and then later stopped working about the time the seatbelt light started to act up.

One more question, I know the electrical prints say that the Cruise control and stop lights use the same ground, if so, where is this at?

Any help would be appreciated....Patrick

They may be interelated but then again. Here are the areas where I have located grounds:

Batt-Chassis (@ the batt.)
Chassis-engine (mine was attached to an exhaust bracket that worked loose and caused very strange problems-double check this one due to vibration)
Instr. Panel (behind the cluster are many grounding points)
Trunk Area (Structure point on each side, near the lid supports)

The cruise control may be grounding, but double check the tail light sockets (believe it or not). I found the tail light assembly gasket was not sealing well and the bulb socket was corroded. A little emory cloth and things started working again. A little silicone grease renewed the gasket sufficiently.

If not, you may be looking at a little solder touch up on the amp.

The corroded tail light affected the cruise control .

Here now, don't go reading things into the responses.

whatever

it affected would have seemed totally unrelated whether it was cruise or instruments. but bad grounds can cause really goofy things to happen!

Smile One down One to go....

Ok, guys... Tail lights did in fact take care of the flashing seatbelt light. There was a lot of corrosion on the grouding connections of each bulb. You could watch the dash light while moving the bulbs in their seats. Turned out that the running light on the passanger side was the culprit.

It did not however fix the cruise problem. I can see that grounding between these two systems are interrelated in that they do share grounding at G102 and G104. I will have to do some more research into this problem. Thanks for all your help.
