Hi there

I am new to this forum and finds it very interesting, I am a merc diesel fanatic. I have owned 3 x W123 300D's with in total more than 1,200,000 km's on the clock. I now own a 1996 250D Elegance. More refined but with a lot more small problems compared to the old 300D's. Did Merc produce these C250d's in the states? I have never seen a post regarding these cars.

My question. On startup my cars makes a ticking sound which dissapears after about 10 seconds. Is this normal ? Could it be valves. The car has 190,000 km's on the clock and has a full serive history.
