Needed - Oil filter housing for SD

I'm having a problem finding an oil filter housing for my '85 300SD. It is the one with the oil pressure sensor pointing straight beck to the firewall.

I was replacing my oil cooler lines and the collar was frozen to the housing. I broke the threaded boss.

Actually, I have contacted Jim. I had a housing and I asked him to confirm if it was the one I needed. He has not responded yet.

did your oil cooler line(s) blow, or is this preventative maintenance that turned into a nightmare?

How is your car otherwise?

Uh, the latter. The other problem I have to deal with is my shifting problem. If I hook up the bowden cable, all my upshifts occur at 4000 rpm.

I have tried eBay. None of my type appeared yet.

The housing for all 617's (any year) are the same. The only difference is that in the '85 the SD has an electronic pressure sensor. This sensor can be swapped into an older filter housing... dont ask me how I know

I have a housing with the mechanical sensor that was sent to me. The end plate is different and will not transfer from housing to housing..

well, that is really odd.

When I accidentally cross-threaded the banjo bolt for the oil pressure feed for the turbo on that plate grimgaunt sent me one off of a car with a mechanical gauge. It works... That is really weird. I wonder if you got one from a 616?

The plate we are talking about is on the rear of the oil filter housing and hooks up the turbo and the pressure gauge right?

Somewhere in my monster thread there is a picture of a blown up view of the oil filter housing...

FWIW, the 82 SD has an electronic sender too.

That's the one. And it certainly might have come off a 616.

Still looking for the housing. I had one sent to me with the mechanical sender connection that I will try to adapt, but I am still looking for a housing with the electrical pressure transducer.
