I could still start any 617 diesel by disconnecting the vacuum to the IP and jumping the starter terminals, it doesn't matter what you do under the dash. Fortunately, no one is very interested in stealing one. It is possible for the factory to install effective "kill switches" on computer controlled engines.

Alarm module

A pillar; above the driver foot upper sound cover.

Here are the pictures "Pete" took today when we woke up the alarm beast by plugging it in.
The first picture contains the control module picture.
The module contains a 14 pin male set of pins.
The second picture is of the 14 pin female plug which was disconnected.
So it really does work....
But could we really trust it to do its thing correctly.
Time will tell.

It was very interesting to hear the old beast bellow.
It sounded like rip van winkle being aroused from a deep sleep.

Here are the part numbers on the module:

0008205226
below that is: BAW 840 Z 0008

Regards,

Pete

Looking for

The driver lock black cylinder alarm switch, and the hard shell connector.

The alarm switch/bracket assembly from under the hood.

Please send me an email or PM if you have these..

We confirmed alarm system function through the passenger front door.

Thank you...

3 of 3 mercedes that had factory alarms that I have worked on ALL didn't work or would go off at the wierdest times. We ended up disabling them.
